Help me make my miles matter more this summer for brave kids!
Together, let's make this summer count for brave kids coping with serious illnesses; whether it's cancer, rare diseases, syndromes, etc.
This summer, I’m taking on the 2026 Beads of Courage Summer Challenge — 100 miles completed and $100 raised to support children coping with cancer and other serious illness. Every mile I move and every dollar you give, helps provide Beads of Courage, meaningful tangible symbols of hope and comfort that help kids visualize, share, and own their stories of courage.
Your support truly makes a difference! Even a small donation goes a long way in helping me reach my goal and ensuring brave kids receive the beads they need to honor their strength and resilience.
Samuel's first beads were from Child Life at Mayo in Rochester, MN after he was already 5 months into treatment for Stage IV High Risk Neuroblastoma. From there on, he did the Beads of Courage Beads at Home program. Once Samuel was done with his cancer treatments, his beads didn't stop as he was diagnosed with a rare disease called Gaucher's Disease. We still keep track of everything at his appointments and infusions so he can add to his bead collection and story. A majority of his beads are from when he had cancer but the rare disease ones are adding up fast too.
Samuel loves when they arrive in the mail and adding them to the others! He, like many others, have endured more than they ever should have to and these beads are more than just beads. They symbolize their bravery, hope, courage, strength, resilience and so much more!
Did I mention that Samuel has over 2,500 beads? That's between his cancer treatments he went through and his current rare disease treatments.
Let’s make an impact together this summer for brave kids!
