When my daughter Adeline was diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia, our world changed overnight. At just 3 years old, she’s endured more than most people face in a lifetime: countless blood draws, infusions, hospital stays, procedures, and now she’s preparing for chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant.
Through every poke, every transfusion, every scary moment, she earns a bead from Beads of Courage. What might look like a simple string of beads to others is actually the story of her bravery… a tangible reminder of every challenge she’s faced and every battle she’s overcome.
As her mom, I’ve watched her smile through pain, find joy in hospital rooms, and teach our family what courage really means. That’s why this fundraiser is so important to us. These beads aren’t just beads. They’re hope, resilience, and proof that even the smallest warriors can have the biggest hearts.
