Every bead tells a story. For my daughter Zoie, those stories are countless.

Zoie is the third of our four children, and she is full of light, laughter, and resilience. But behind her bright smile is a medical journey that most people can’t even imagine.

She was born with a rare DNA condition that doctors are still working to understand. She has a twisted blood vessel in her brain, heart problems, and a rare eye condition called morany goly system. On top of that, Zoie is autistic and lives with other learning disabilities that make her daily life more challenging.

There are so many little things we still don’t have answers for. Some days bring more questions than solutions. But no matter what, Zoie keeps fighting.

Our family travels more than two hours one way to the children’s hospital one to three times a month. That’s countless hours on the road, countless tests, treatments, and check-ups. And every single time, Zoie earns another bead for her Beads of Courage strand.

These beads are not just decorations. They are symbols of her strength. Every blood draw, every test, every surgery, every trip to the hospital each moment is honored with a bead. When you look at Zoie’s strand, you see her story: a story of courage, resilience, and hope.

The Beads of Courage Program has given Zoie something priceless: a way to see her bravery in color. It gives her strength when she feels small. It gives us, as parents, a way to celebrate how far she has come.

But this program depends on donations to continue. That’s why we’re asking for your support. Your gift will help Beads of Courage provide beads to children like Zoie, children who spend more time in hospitals than playgrounds, but who deserve to be celebrated for every step they take.

Zoie’s story is just one of thousands, but it matters. Every little bit helps whether it’s the cost of a bead, a string, or the hope it carries.

Every bead tells a story. Will you help write the next chapter of Zoie’s?
