Together, we can encourage children coping with serious illness with every step, stride, hill climb, and every lap we swim!
While an active cancer patient, I swam the 187 mile length of the Willamette River to inspire other cancer patients to refuse to give up simply because of a diagnosis. I never imagined chasing this dream would largely be responsible for healing my leukemia. This unexpected miracle made me want to do everything in my power to spend the rest of my life offering hope to those who are suffering from cancer and serious illnesses through my extreme distance swims and great adventures. Who better to encourage than kids who are sick and need to remember there is life and adventure after devastating illness?
Courage makes recovery is a possibility! Beads of Courage is the best way to help kids find their power to recruit it.
