National Sibling Day is a day set aside to honor brothers and sisters. At Beads of Courage, we honor siblings all year long through our Sibling Program, which provides recognition and support for the brothers are sisters of children coping with serious illness. The Beads of Courage Sibling Program provides siblings with coping strategies and beads to acknowledge their strength and courage when the serious illness of a brother or sister impacts their lives.
During the month of April, donate $25 to provide the Sibling Program for a child and your gift will be doubled! Thanks to a generous matching grant from the Scarcelli Family Foundation, every $25 you donate will provide two Sibling Kits! The more you donate, the more siblings you help.
Our goal is to support 5,000 siblings in 2021! The demand for our Sibling Program far exceeds our ability to provide it ... we simply can't provide this program without individual donor support and the Scarcelli Family Foundation.
The Scarcelli Family was introduced to Beads of Courage when their daughter Rachel received beads while being treated for a cardiac condition. During that time, the Scarcellis understood that their sons, James and Nicholas, needed to feel acknowledged and supported alongside their sister during her treatment journey. The Foundation recognizes the value of the Beads of Courage Sibling Program to honor the bravery and courage of brothers and sisters, which is an important component of healing.
